Our business history dates back to 1912 in Jerome, Arizona, where a tiny one-man shop was selling and servicing automobiles and motorcycles. Throughout the years, our company has expanded to service the transportation needs of Arizona by providing parts, equipment, and service for all size trucks, trailers, recreational vehicles, and buses. Still on the move, we operate a 60,000 square foot headquarters facility in Phoenix, as well as locations in Tucson and Holbrook, Arizona.

Our company history has always involved us with the vehicles’ “safety” components; hence the name “Auto Safety House”. We sell axles, brakes, suspension and steering system components as well as lights, mirrors, electrical components, and many other related parts and equipment products for trucks, trailers, buses, and recreational vehicles. We represent over 200 different product lines with thousands of parts ready for delivery to our wholesale, fleet, and retail customers.

Auto Safety House, LLC has a long history of designing, developing, distributing, and servicing the truck equipment needs of Arizonans. In 1924, Harry Amster, the founder of Auto Safety House, LLC, built the first 10-ton truck ever placed in an open pit mine. The trucks have changed since then, and so have we. Our team of specialists is dedicated to providing strong, well built products to serve the commercial, industrial, agricultural, and recreational requirements of a growing Arizona and Nevada. Throughout our history, our goal has always been to provide quality, service, and dependability.

Auto Safety House first opened its doors in 1941 here in Phoenix as a sister company and service arm of Hydraulic Brake Supply, a supplier of air and hydraulic brake parts. The ’50s brought the need to relocate to a larger location as the business grew. With the larger location, Auto Safety House was able to expand operations into parts and service on a wide assortment of buses, trucks and trailers. ASH continued to focus on braking, steering and suspension systems. Soon after relocating, Auto Safety House began selling customized truck bodies and flatbeds for a variety of industries, including ranching, logging and utility companies.

In 1958 Blue Bird Body Company, a manufacturer of school buses, approached Auto Safety House to become their exclusive dealer in Arizona. With a lot of dedication and a strong sales team, ASH’s new endeavor paid off and we have been a leading school bus distributor since then. In addition to school buses, Auto Safety House moved into commercial buses and vans from leading distributors such as Glaval, Diamond Coach, Krystal Infinity, Mobility Works, and Braun Mobility.

Auto Safety House once again outgrew its operations in 1977 and moved to our current location in the heart of Phoenix with close proximity to leading truck and trailer suppliers as well as fleet operators. In 1993, the first branch of Auto Safety House opened in Tucson. In 1999, the company was acquired by Rocky Mountain Capital. 2002 saw an opening of our Northern Arizona branch in Holbrook. We were excited by the positive feedback of the two branches and in mid 2004, Auto Safety House Las Vegas was officially open for business. In January 2006, the company was acquired by Gladstone Investment. In 2011, Auto Safety House started providing Thomas Tech Support in Reno through Cummins Rocky Mountain.

Our service personnel have extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of truck and trailer undercarriage, suspension, and brake systems. Our front end and frame repair facility is one of the most complete in the nation. We use the latest equipment and technologies to accurately and completely diagnose problems and then cost effectively perform repairs.

We represent proven Thomas School Bus products. No other company equals our commitment to product support after the sale. Our parts and service departments are keenly aware of the customer’s needs, as they have serviced the bus industry for over 45 years. Our motto has always been “Your Children’s Safety is our Business”.

Our present remains stable and solid. Our future will be exciting and growth oriented. We are very pleased to have you with us and look forward to you being an important member of our team.

Today, Auto Safety House’s territory covers all of Arizona, and with our expansion into Nevada, we continue to provide our customers with the highest quality products and services that helped shape who we are today. With our contract with Thomas Built Buses and with almost 50 years of sales experience behind us and a history dating back 96 years, Auto Safety House will continue to lead the way by doing what we do best, taking care of you. We want to be your provider of choice.
