Job Title: Truck Equipment Technician
Reports To: Truck Equipment Shop Foreman
FLSA Status: Non- exempt
Compensation: $ per bi-weekly pay period
SUMMARY: Working inside a high volume and high quality shop upfitting of commercial and safety vehicles. Building vehicles from the ground up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Install flat beds of all sizes
- Service bodies of all sizes
- Fabricate from ground up hitches and Icc bumpers
- Fabricate and install dump bodies and needed hydraulic and electrical systems
- Install wire and repair safety equipment such as 4 corner strobe systems, arrow boards and light bars

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 2 years welding experience
- 1 year experience with hydraulics
- 1 year experience in automotive electrical and lighting systems
- 2-3 years experience in fabrication example building car chassis, building trailers, fabricating dump bodies etc
- Crane and lift gate knowledge
- Must be self starter
- Past truck equipment experience a plus
- Must have own hand tools
- Knowledge of shop tools sheer tubing bender and saws

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write technical, effective business communication to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, clients, and/or regulators.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply financial mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
