Job Description
Job Title: Mobile Service Technician
Department: Service
Reports To: Shop Foreman /Manager
FLSA Status: Non- exempt
Compensation: $ per hour
SUMMARY: Primarily work offsite (afternoons, evenings, and weekends) to meet with customers quoting, performing, and selling services ranging from preventative maintenance to heavy duty repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Diesel engine - Repair, diagnostic, rebuilding and general repair including Cummins, Caterpillar, Mercedes.
- Heavy duty brakes - Complete understanding of air brake systems, including repair and rebuild of system.
- Electrical diagnosis - Must have extensive electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities, understanding of multiplexing is a plus
- Air Conditioning - general understanding of air conditioning installation, trouble shooting and repair is a plus
- Transmission- Allison diagnostic and minor repair
- Ford-GM medium duty diesel engine diagnostic and repair
- Heavy duty suspension air and spring suspension trouble shooting and repair
- Heavy duty alignment theory and repair techniques
- Service & communicate regularly with existing customers
- Establishing new service and customers
- Performing preventative maintenance on light to heavy duty vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-8 years minimum experience with maintenance on medium to heavy duty vehicles
- Clean driving record
- 3 years minimum experience in diagnosing and selling services/repairs (not just preventative maintenance)
- Able to gain fingerprint clearance to perform work at school sites (to be paid for by the company)
- Professional Appearance
- CDL (highly preferred)
- 3 years mobile experience (highly preferred)
- ASE certifications (preferred)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write technical, effective business communication to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, clients, and/or regulators.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply financial mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
